Frequently Asked Questions

Video Archive Questions

How do attendees get access to the videos from the seminar?

All attendees who paid for the "Do It With Drupal" seminar will have access to the full video archive of the event. You can either login with your username and password that you set up when registering, or you can reset your password if you've forgotten it.

If you're an attendee who can log in, but you still don't have access to the videos, then it's possible that we didn't add you to the whitelist. Feel free to contact us with your username or user id, and we can double check and be sure to get you access.

If you didn't attend the "Do It With Drupal" seminar, then you will need to purchase access to the videos here.

What if I'm having trouble accessing my account?

You can first try resetting your password, and if you're still having issues, then feel free to shoot us a message from the contact page.

What if I'm having trouble playing the videos?

First check out the free sample videos to be sure that they're playing correctly in your browser. If not, then be sure that you have the latest version of Flash (version 10) installed and javascript enabled. If you're using Internet Explorer and still having problems, please try using the Firefox web browser.

If you are still having problems, please contact us through the our contact form.

Can I download the videos?

Since we have over 40 hours of HD video, we've opted to provide the videos in embeded Flash format rather than download. If one wanted all of the video, it would be about 34GB of data to download. By providing the video in streaming format, visitors can start any video immediately and don't need to store the files locally.

Are these high-definition videos?

We've done a lot of work optimizing the video size and quality vs. bandwidth. Most videos are 960 x 540px at 400kbps which balances legibility of the instructional content with bandwidth to allow for immediate-start glitch-free play over most DSL or cable connections. We recommend that you click the screen icon in the lower right of the videos to play them full-screen. They scale up really nicely!

Are there videos for every session from the event?

There were 35 sessions at Do It With Drupal, however only 34 videos made it into the archive. We had a technical problem recording the session entitled, "You asked, We themed" and that session was not recorded. We also had a problem recording, "Drupal Search Options" and the video contains only the demo portion of the presentation. However, there is an extensive PDF of slides available from the search presentation.

Conference Questions

Who should attend?

We want this event to be as inclusive as possible. The event's focus is examples, techniques, and best practices for building successful Drupal projects. Our sessions will assume very little knowledge of Drupal, but they will still have a lot to offer for experienced Drupal developers who want to learn more about the techniques that high-end developers are using to execute their projects. Experienced Drupal developers may also be interested in the sessions on topics such as community building, project management, and performance as well as in-depth dissections of popular Drupal sites. Additionally, we'll have lots of social opportunities for attendees and speakers to connect, network, and generally hang out.

Check out the schedule for the latest update on sessions.

I've already attended Lullabot workshops. Is there a reason for me to attend this event?

Most definitely. This event is an expansion on the Lullabot workshops. Attendees can get much more in-depth and topic-specific information than we can offer at the workshops. While the workshops offer a great introduction and overview, at DIWD you'll be able to hear about Views, CCK, and Organic Groups from their authors; you can attend specialized sessions about community building, site performance, or case studies with some of the largest and most popular Drupal sites; and you'll be able to choose from more than 30 different sessions and keynotes across the three days.

Where should I stay?

The event is happening at the Marriott on the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans. It's an excellent location and we have a special rate at the hotel for attendees. Use discount code LTCLTCA when registering. More details here.

What is included with my registration?

Your registration includes:

  • Admission to all sessions and social events
  • Breakfast and lunch each day
  • Swag-bag goodies

I'm from a company that is currently evaluating Drupal. Is this event right for me?

Absolutely. This event is intended as an introduction to Drupal's community, capabilities, and other companies using it. It is an excellent opportunity to listen to real-life case studies and ask lots of questions.

My school/company requires me to pay using an invoice. Is that possible?

Yes! Please contact us with your details and we will draw up an invoice for you.

I am traveling to the conference from another country and I need an official letter/sponsorship for my visa application. How do I get that?

Please contact us with your details and we will email you a PDF that you can use.

What about special needs I may have, such as wheelchair access or meal requirements?

The conference rooms are wheelchair accessible and we will provide wheelchair spaces in the seating rows. We have also made sure that there will be vegetarian meal options throughout the conference. If you have dietary restrictions or other needs, please contact us and let us know.

Will there be power and WiFi for laptops?

The conference floor will have WiFi. There will be power strips available in all of the conference rooms, though not every seat will have an outlet available.

Where can I find DIWD badges and banners to use on my website?

Writing up a blog post about Do It With Drupal? Looking for something to jazz up your site's sidebar? Add some pizazz with these badges and banners.

How is DIWD different from DrupalCon?

DrupalCon is a community-run conference that has wonderful opportunities for developers and site administrators to get together to share information and work on improving Drupal. Anyone can submit a session proposal to speak at DrupalCon. It also offers many birds-of-a-feather (BoF) sessions where people can gather to work on special-interest needs. Generally speaking, the event tends to cater to people who are already invested in Drupal, either professionally or through volunteer activity in the community.

Do It With Drupal is an event for those who are interested or getting started in Drupal, and those who want to become experts. Our speakers are being paid to assemble complete lessons in the topics of their presentations. Speakers for this seminar have been chosen both for their expertise in these subjects and their ability to communicate clearly to both experts and novice users. Do It With Drupal is a very learning-focused event.

Additionally, DIWD will offer many sessions in areas such as website marketing, web trends, community building, and other adjunct topics intended to provide some outwardly-focused context for Drupal site builders.

Is DIWD presented by the Drupal Association?

The event is presented and curated by the Lullabot team. Several of Lullabot's team members participate in the Drupal Association, but this event is not presented in coordination with the Association. However, $50 from each paid registration will be donated to the Drupal Association to help with Drupal infrastructure, events, promotion and distribution.
